We just made two new additions to our family. I want to introduce you to Gerdie (Gertrude the Goat). She was added to the family on Saturday April 7. She is a 4 year old Pygmy Goat ,she is about18 inches from her shoulder to the ground. She is black with white freckles on the ears and on her nose. We brought her to the farm to help out with the weeding. So far she is doing a great job. She is extremely friendly and loves to lick your hand. People are already asking to borrow her, but I don't think that will happen anytime soon. As you can see in the background Conan and Buddy do not seem to mind her at all. In fact I am starting to get the feeling that Gerdie thinks she is a dog too.
The final addition was a new kitty named Tigerlily, Lily for short. Two weeks ago we lost Patrick, unfortunately he was ran over by a car. We miss him terribly and we were not planning on getting another cat for a month or too, so we thought. Friday I came to work and one of my coworkers had this kitten that need a home, she was so lovable and friendly I could not let her go to the pound. So I adopted her, and that is how we acquired Lily. She looks just like Patrick and we acquired her just like Patrick, so she seems to be the perfect fit to the family. Rufus and Lily get along great. No major cat fights to report. I think Rufus didn't like being the only cat, so he was eager to get to know her.
So as you can tell we had a very busy weekend. Hey if you ever want to go to a zoo, just come to my house, we have a petting zoo right out of front door step. (HaHaHaHa) Hope you all had a great weekend and Easter holiday.
Love,
The Avery's
