April 24, Ilyse, Kelle (Mekelle) and I head back to Idaho. (Kelle was able to get off work for a couple of weeks to come and stay with me in Idaho.) We took they long way home up the old highway so we could see Bryce Canyon and hopefully Park City. We arrived at Bryce and it was freezing. We were not expecting snow, so we just pulled off at a couple of areas. We didn't spend more than an hour at Bryce, which is too bad. But we got to see some very pretty places.
Our trip took longer than we had hoped so we decided to by-passed Park City. Park City will be our next trip when Ilyse comes out to Idaho again. Ilyse got to see some of the prettiest places in Utah. We arrived in Idaho around 7 pm. We were exhausted but we had a great time.

Kelle took this picture, and I am not sure why?

Another great picture of Bryce Canyon

Bryce Canyon
I love this picture because of the contrast been the red rock and snow.

On April 23 Maggie, Ilyse and I headed out of the house to see Zion's Park. It had been raining all night and we were not sure what the weather would be like, but as soon as we arrived at the park, we realized that we picked the perfect day. We were in awe. It was the most beautiful site. There were waterfalls everywhere, and I do mean everywhere. We were hiking down to the lower pool at Emerald Pool, and we had passed a ranger. He heard Maggie and I comment that we had never seen Zion's like this before. He said, "You must be locals." We both laughed and started to talk to him. He said he had worked in the park for over 20 years and he had never seen Zions like this. So it was a real treat for us and especially Ilyse.
When we got home from Zion's Park, mom had a BBQ ready with Grandma and Aunt Ilene. Ilyse said she would like to be adopted into our family. It is probably because we are all nuts and she fits right in (wink, wink).

Zion's Park with snow.
(I have never seen Zion's Park with snow on the ground.)

Ilyse showing the contrast between the snow and the red rock.

I love this picture! Maggie and Ilyse look so cute.

Ilyse and I just after we entered the park.

Can you see all of the waterfalls?
Because of all the runoff from the storms that came through,
there were waterfalls everywhere.
We took this picture on our hike to the lower pools of Emerald Pools.
Maggie and Ilyse, what goofs.
(It looks like we are in New England somewhere, because all of the green.)

A view of Emerald Pool's waterfall.
I have never seen this much water come off the pools like this before.
It was an amazing experience.
