The house is complete!

January 5, 2008 the Barazee family was given the key to their new house. We joined in with the family to celebrate this wonderful project's completion. Kingston was the major sponsor that allowed this family to have a new start in this home. The house has 3 bedrooms 2 baths with a nice sized laundry room The living room and kitchen are together. This should be a great space for this little family of five. They have waited a very long time for this moment....
Val and I were able to spend a few weekends, participating in the building of the new house. We learned many new skills while volunteering on this project, from building headers for the doorways and windows, to putting the sub-floor in, and our most famous project, putting the plastic weathering on the walls upside down. We had a great time working with our hands, learning new skill, but most importantly making new friends. I hope I will have another opportunity to participate in another project like this. It was a great experience for me.

Here are some pictures of the completed house. (Hopefully the walls won't fall in. Hahaha, just kidding, it passed inspection with very few bribes)
