The last couple of weeks, Idaho Falls has been hit hard with snow and wind. Everyone that has lived in a winter climate like Idaho, knows that that combination of snow and wind can wreak havic on the people who are foolish enough to live there..... Wednesday and Thursday night of last week was one of the worst winds storms we have had all winter. It was so bad that the 3 main arteries into Idaho was closed. I-15, HWY 83 & 86 were shut down. Washington, Nevada, Oregon, Wyoming were all shut down also. Which makes it a total nightmare for me because of my job. Trucks were stranded for days....Anyways.... Saturday we finally had a beautiful day, so I made great use of it. Val and I went snowmobling. (post of that will come later) After our ride, I settled right into my nice warm house, and before I knew it, the wind was howling again. It blew all night long. Sunday Chris and I got up at 8 am (lazy I know) to make it to church at 9. We had gotten ready and called Chris'Grandma Avery to see if she would like a ride to church. She told us that church was cancelled. Nine years of living in Idaho, I have never had church cancelled. Chris and I were relieved that we didn't have to go out on the yucky, treacherous roads, but the funniest thing happened, as soon as we hung up with Grandma, the snow plow came through to clear our street. But church was still cancelled,so we just hung around the house and we noticed it started to snow again.... We got a total of 6 new inches of snow to what we already had...... So this morning when I got to work (1/2 hour late due to car stuck in snow drift, in the drive way.) I found an email from my dad showing the snow they had received on Sunday morning. I just laughed and thought how St. George would be shut down, just like my senior year of highschool. (cancelled school for 2" of snow, which was melted by 11 that morning).... After I saw the pictures of St. George in their "blanket of snow", Val and I was inspired to take pictures of my surroundings at lunch time......
So here we go Idaho Falls vs St. George......

IDAHO FALLS.
This is a street right here in downtown Idaho Falls.

Me in front of one of the many snow drifts in down town Idaho Falls. I wish I had a picure of my yard. It is much worse than this. We have a ton of snow...
