St. George Trip Mar 13-15

March 13 Chris, Ilyse and I had the opportunity to make a quick trip to St. George. This trip was very unexpected. Chris found out that he needed to test out of his foreign language in order to graduate in May, and the closest place was St. George. I didn't mind, the more reasons to go home the better. We loaded up the car on Thursday and headed down. We stopped in Provo and picked Rachel and Byrnna up, so they wouldn't have to ride the shuttle. Our car has never had so many people in it, but we all fit and had a great trip down. We arrived in St. George on Thursday around 3. We didn't do much on Thursday but Mom, Rachel, Brynna, Ilyse and I decided to go see Dad at work. After we saw him we headed over to old Thomas Judd store to get some ice cream. I had not been in that store since the 6th grade. What memories we had of that place. All those who went to Woodward for 6th grade, knows what I am talking about. We sat out side the old store eating the ice cream and soaking up the warm temps. It was so nice, can you say 75 degrees. When we left Idaho Falls that morning it was snowing, so this was a nice treat. We just sat there for about an hour and then headed back to mom's house. Friday morning Chris, Ilyse and I headed to take a tour of St. George. We took to Snow's Canyon and the Tuachann Center and showed her around. Ilyse totally loved the scenery of the canyons and the sand dunes. After Snow's Canyon we headed back home the long way, the real long way through Gunlock. I love Gunlock. It was beautiful but the trees were barely starting to bud with the new leaves. We arrived back at Dad and Moms house. Mom surprised us girls with a trip to the salon for pedicures. We all loaded in the car and had a great time getting our toes all pretty. Chris stayed behind, feeling kind of left out, but Dad and Dave soon came to the rescue. They had brought over the little car. So all three of them headed out in the little car to get groceries for the bbq. After the pedicures we arrived home and Dad and Dave were up to their elbows in potatoes. Dad was cooking his dutch oven BBQ ribs and his famous potatoes. After the potatoes were cut, Dave to Ilyse and I on a tour of St. George in the little car. I don't dare drive this car, if I wrecked it I would feel horrible. So I let Dave do the honors. We had a great time. When we arrived home, Dad had the dutch oven done and we ate like pigs. It was so good. Thanks Dad for making us dutch oven, I will take it when ever I can. Grandma Cox came and joined us for dinner and we had a great time. Saturday morning Chris got up early and headed to Dixie State College for his test. He was done with the test and felt really good about it, but we won't know for sure for about a month. So we are keeping our fingers crossed. After the test Chris, Ilyse and I left the 70 degree weather and headed back to Idaho Falls. It was a fast trip, but we made great memories with the little time we had. Thanks Mom and Dad for all you did for us. We love you....
