Here is a picture of me swinging on a homemade swing that hung from the giant. I thought I had a picture of me, Ilyse and Val on the truck of the tree, but I can't find it. Darn it.

End of a Great Era
Last night Chris and I got some very sad news. This sad news marks the end of many many decades of tradition. The past few weeks Idaho Falls region has experienced heavy rain, we have received as much as 6 inches in some places, like our family's cabin up at Avery Acres. Well last night we were told that our beloved leaning pine tree has fallen, after 300+ years of leaning. Generations have enjoyed that tree. Chris and I had many great memories playing on the swing. I even have the great memory of Conan walking up the tree behind me on his first trip up to the cabin. Who has ever seen a dog climb a tree, well I have. About 15 years ago Grandma Avery had loggers come in and thin out some of the dead trees and they estimated by the size of the truck on the leaning tree that it is older than the United States Constitution. So you can imagine how many people that have enjoyed the tree for the past 300+ years. So we are in mourning for this great loss.
