This morning started out pretty rough, and I sure hope it is not an ominous sign of how the week to come is going to turn out.
It started pretty much last night, I went to be around 11:30, could not sleep and before I knew it, my alarm clock said 1:49 am., let me remind you that I get up between 5:15 - 5:30. So I only had a few hours left to try to get some z's in. I finally fell a sleep but when my alarm went off at 5:15 I could not bare the thought of me getting up so, I pushed snooze. Not a good thing. When I thought I pushed snooze, I actually turned off my alarm all together. So around 6:10 I woke up, not a good thing at all. I run to the bathroom to start my tub, then headed to the laundry room to put some clothes in my dryer. There is water all over my laundry room floor. I was not sure where the water was coming from so I check the connection on my washer and then checked my deep freezer, hoping and praying that it was not that. As I was getting ready to unload the food storage I have stacked on the freezer, I start to notice that I can hear my sprinklers going. So I opened the window and noticed that the rain bird sprinkler was not working correctly, that it was hitting directly in the right spot to flood my laundry room. So I tried to mop up the floor the best that I could, but know it is not going to help much until I can get out side to turn off the sprinkler or move it.
So I head to the bathroom, took a quick bath, long enough to shave my legs and then start getting ready for work. I was actually making great time, it was such a good thing that my hair was already straightened from yesterday, so all I had to do was to put my makeup on and straightened the curls I always get on the hair closes to my neck. I was doing great. It was only 6:35, I had 5 minutes to brush my teeth and go.
I grabbed my purse had to look for my cell phone really quickly, someone used it, so it was not on the charger where I had placed it. Saw my keys on the entertainment center (usually they are in the car, so it was a good thing I saw them.) Headed into the kitchen to get my watch and wedding ring, where I had left them to do the dishes on Sunday night.
Then I saw them. The horses were walking up the street. Oh no, now I am really going to be late. I grabbed my shoes and headed out the door, called my work to let them know I was going to be late. I threw my purse on the ground next to the car tire and headed out to grab a lead rope so I could capture one of the horses. By the time I got my rope, they were up across the street in a weed ridden lot, next to the neighbors horses. I was thinking this might be harder than I thought, they might run away from me so they can stay by the other horses. Well I was wrong partially, Sassie and Sheeza saw me and were walking towards me, this is good, I was thinking. Well John's new puppy Maverick saw them and bolted for them, causing them to run away from me. Oh No, Not Good. They ran to the pasture and that is when I saw how they got out. The gate was left open. So I quickly closed the gate and run grabbed the quad to get Missy. She was still up with the other horses.
I threw the rope around her and put on a halter, and led her back to the the quad, this is when she stepped on my exposed toe. I was wearing sandals. After I got her off my toe I lead her behind the quad back to the farm's pastures. I had her back with the rest of the escapees and locked the gate up behind me.
I get back on the quad and rode to the house. That is when I remembered the sprinkler problem, so I hopped down and tried to adjust the sprinkler, it is not working. So I then proceeded to try to move it. I found a spot in the yard that would be perfect. As I was pushing it into the ground the sprinkler fell over a got me soaked. My shirt was soaked, my hair was wet.... Are you kidding me, is all I could think. So I walked back into the house and toweled off. Didn't change my shirt, by this point I was throwing in the towel, I gave up... I went to work with wet hair and a wet shirt.. I had had enough. I just hope that the remainder of the day is not like this.

And where was Chris during all of this?
Just kidding. ; )
I hope your foot is OK. That sounds painful.
I was thinking the same thing -- you should have woke Chris and Mekelle up to help you -- hope your foot gets better?
Wow. Sorry to hear about that. It actually sounds like a bad movie;) Hopefully, you've recovered physically and emotionally!
