Continuing Saga

So the story continues from Saturday. Last night we noticed that Maverick the blue healer dog was missing, so Chris & Brandon set out to find him, it was late like around 10:30, but it was just too dark even with headlights from the trucks to find him. So they came home and set out to find him again first thing this morning. Chris had a sickening feeling that Maverick was caught in a trap like Bella was on Saturday, but he would not answer their calls, unlike Bella. This morning they found poor Mav with his head stuck in a trap.
Chris took Mav's limp body home to bury him and came back to the scene to see what other traps he might find. He found at least 6, some on the neighbors side and some on our side of the property. One even had a dead raccoon in it, he saw the one that killed Maverick and the one that caught Bella. Some of the traps that were not set off, were baited with meat, so it all makes sense to why my dogs were over there, because originally I knew that Bella was on someone elses land and she was trespassing, but now with this new info, it makes me really angry. What dog would not give in to have fresh meat rather than their dry dog food. These people were baiting helpless animals and it makes me so angry. So Chris being pissed again over the whole events from Saturday and today called the sheriff's office and even fish & game. So they are at the farm getting info and cleaning up the illegal traps. They said they will investigate since they were on our land and the traps killed a pet.
All I can think of is that this could have been anyone of us. We go down there all of the time to due chores. We could have been severely injured. I don't understand why people feel that it is all right to kill animals, we don't need the fur or the meat so why are they setting out these traps. These traps killed and nearly killed two dogs that are charished by their families.
