JOY AND HAPPINESS ON THE FARM

Living on a farm in Idaho has brought me joy that I never expected. I always knew deep down that I was really a country girl and that I wouldn't be truly happy until I had a place where I could ride and roam on a mechanical horse or the real flesh and blood. By marrying Chris, he and his family have given me this opportunity. I love every minute of it. I love being free of all the hustle and craziness of the city. I love being able to go outside and ride along the fences, checking them for any down wires. I love seeing all of the animals, happy in their element. I love the fresh air. I love seeing the new life that comes every spring. I love all the opportunities of learning something new. I love the sounds of chirping birds and the mooing of the cows, rather than the hum of cars on the city streets. I love being with and working along side my husband and seeing our labors bloom into a healthy happy farm. I love living here and so grateful for this. Heavenly Father knew who I am and what my life would need to feel happy. He has given me so so much. I am truly blessed.
So these are pictures of what we do pretty much every evening during feeding time.
We load the feeding truck with hay and oats, feed, give the cows straw for bedding, and we check on all of the animals that call this farm their home.
Chris over looking his job well done.
(Doesn't he look cute in his little plaid farmers shirt?)
Day old kittens found in the straw stack.
7 kittens total.
Buddy and Bella excited about feeding the cows.
(I swear they have smiles on their faces every night at this time.)
Sheeza striking a pose as the wind blows her long beautiful golden, I mean grayish mane.
(she is now 1 year old as of last Saturday)
The yearling heifers came to see us as we were driving on the quad
in the pasture behind the house.
