We held this years reunion once again at Avery Acres, and I honestly can not picture a more perfect place to hold it. The only down fall is that it is 8 hours away for some and 4 for others. So, I thank those family members for being so willing to come up to Idaho 2 years in a row.
Thursday was a travel day for most, and those who came up early or live here, went shopping for food and cleaned and set up tents for those still traveling.
Friday we played most of the day. We had a wonderful breakfast prepared by Mom and Kelle. Though mom did most of it. We played minute to win it, I thought it was a blast. Mom came up with some pretty fun mini challenges and yes, I looked like an idiot. But what is new right? The boys held their annual horse shoe game. While the nieces watched intently, which totally surprised me. The girlies (Brynna and Hannah) found the kiddie pool, so they went swimming in their diapers, but eventually became totally naked, but totally cute.
Friday was also my parents 34th anniversary, so us kids planned a little something for them. We had family pictures taken, which was so needed. The last ones taken were way back when Brynna was Hayden's age (6 weeks) or so. We prepared a great dinner and after that, we showed video montage of their lives up to this point (thanks to Dave and Andrea for scanning picture after picture, and putting the video together.) That was totally fun. We were able to rent a video projector and watch this video and a movie outside under the Milky Way.
Saturday, the boys headed out for their annual golfing game, while us girls stayed behind to work on holiday flags. I know the boys had a great time, and us girls always look forward to girl time. After the boys came back, we had our annual kick ball game. The kickball game is always so much fun and I hope it will be part of our future reunions After the game, we played other games, and rode four wheelers, looked at the cows and just enjoyed being outside. Another must at a Cornwell reunion is the game Psychiatrist. We made a fool out of all of us, but especially John, Mekelle's friend. He was a good sport.
Sunday, was another busy day. We all headed up to Salem to attend Hayden's blessing. Ron gave him a beautiful blessing and Maggie was looking radiant as she watched her husband carry their sweet baby to the front of the congregation. Later that night, we roasted s'mores and sat at the campfire. Enjoying our last few hours together.
Monday, was the sad day, were we all said good-bye. I hate how fast the time goes, but we always make the time we have fun and full of great new memories.
Dang, she melts my heart.
Mekelle tryint to swing her hips enough to have the pop cans attached to her belt loops rise high enough to knock off the empty cans on the tree stump.
(For being a swing dancer, you would think she would be able to swing those hips a little better.)
(Got to love bare bottoms)
She thought that the cows needed to rest and lay down.
Girls enjoying their s'mores.
