Easter Weekend of Family and Fun

This weekend we had the great opportunity to have my family come and stay with us for the Easter holiday. Mekelle & Gene came up on Friday while Ron, Maggie and Hayden stayed with us too, even though they don't live too far way. We had a great time together and I finally feel like I know my newest brother Gene. So that was a great bonus to them coming up.
Saturday we got up had a great breakfast, played a little Wii and saw that the weather was actually really nice so we headed out. Gene and Ron wanted to clean up some wood and build a bon fire. I think they were sick of being couped up in the house all winter and saw an opportunity to clean my side yard and build a huge fire while doing it together as a family. It took us most of the day, but we took a break to have lunch, which Maggie you rock with your turkey burgers. They were scrumpious. And then we all went out again. My side yard looks amazing. Thanks again to my wonderful family. What you did in a single day would have taken Chris and I 3 or more weekends. Thanks Gene for bringing you chainsaw, I need one of those. Ron thanks for getting the whole thing started. I don't believe anybody has better brothers than I have. After it was , said and done, my yard looks amazing so we set off to have pizza as a fun way to end the day.

Sunday, we were really lazy and it felt so so good. We made breakfast and lounged around for about an hour, then we decided to have an Easter Egg hunt. Us girls hid the goodies while our men ran around like crazed men looking for the yummy goodness. It was so much fun to watch. Next year we will do it again, but be better organized and harder to find.

Hayden laughing at his parents.

Gene working his skills on the old wooden fence.

Baylee and Tonka

They love each other. I am starting to feel bad for Buddy, he lost his friend Baylee.)

The tractor of many uses.

Garner Family

Hayden being Joe Cool giving his best smuldering look.

Hayden is my passenger in the wheelbarrow.
Hayden would cry when I stopped moving. It reminded me of Grandpa Cox, except my wheelbarrow was not full of grass clippings.

Daddy and Son.

Hayden being kissed by Tonka. He didn't like it.

Chris took Hayden on his first tractor ride.

Ron and I building our big wood pile. We still have several trailers worth to burn.

Can you say summer cook outs.

Baylee and Buddy. Isn't she getting big.

Chris and Gene working hard to get the old farm implements lined up. That includes getting rid of all the old barbed wire that is lying around.

Look at him, he just melts my heart.

Kelle & Hayden.

(I can't wait to have another nephew or niece, but I think she is having a boy. So excited)

The men of the hour disgussing something.

I can't help but smile when I see him smile.

Hayden loved being outside.

I don't know why he thinks he can walk in the middle of my flower garden, just because it is Easter doesn't give you free pass.

Ron searching for easter candy. He found all of the big good stuff.

The finished results. This is where our garden is going to be this year. We are so excited. Thanks Ron, Maggie, Gene, and Kelle for coming up and over to spend the weekend with us and especially for tackling this major project. It would have taken Chris and I several weekends to accomplish what we did in a day. I wish I had a before picture.

Hayden was exhausted from all of the activity. This is how I found him when I went in to check on him. He could be on a Hallmark card, he is so stinkin cute.

I feel bad that I didn't get a picture of Kelle and Gene. But I want them to know how much fun it was to see them. I sure miss having Kelle around, maybe I can find a job for Gene up here as a Fireman and have them here all the time. Sure love my family.
