Another Saturday Filled with Fun.

Saturday was a busy day. I was out and about in town by 8 am. Bought myself a dinner room table and 4 chairs at a thift store for $100 for all 5 pieces. I can't wait to refinish them. Then I got home made panacakes for Johnnie and Taryn and the rest of the gang. After breakfast, we headed to the zoo for Dr. Doolittle Days. The zoo was busy and hot, but we had a great time visiting all of the animal exhibits and booths they had set up to learn more about the animals the kids were visiting. This past year, our little zoo has welcomed quite a few babies. From black swans, a camel, serval kitten, two baby zebras, a cavy and more.

The baby camel had to be taken away from it's mom because she could not take care of her.

But she didn't seem to mind. While we saw her she played with the watering hose and a big block of ice the zookeepers gave her. She had quite the personality.

Black Swan parents herding their goslings. They were quite protective.

They began to hiss at Ron and I when we got too close.
The newest Zebra was born about 9 days before we visited.
Both foals were beautiful and fun to see.

One of my favorite exhibits is the snow leapords and the lions.

Taryn and Johnnie showing off their little frogs
they made at one of the booths they were offering.

All in all, we spent about 3 hours at the zoo. We had a great time. After the zoo we headed for home to have a nice bbq with family and friends. The weather was once again perfect and the food was yummy as usual. One of my favorite things about Idaho is the late summer nights. It will be 9:30 and the sun is just setting. I think it is mother nature's way of making up the short summer months.

Picture of Johnnie eating his mammoth sized hamberger.

Johnnie pretending to be a samari warrior or jedi. I am not sure which, but he was having a lot of fun with the two sticks he found in the yard.

Hayden swinging. I think he is going to miss this swing.

Elizabeth did really good with the swing. She didn't seem to frightened.

She amazes me.
She was ready to be released back up into the sky.

The BBQ was a complete success. We had a great time with everyone and got to meet some of Maggie and Ron's friends from school.
