Praise to the man!

Prophetic Passing

I imagine he’s running to Marjorie now,
Yes, running, not waving his cane.
I see him embracing his father and mother
While they keep repeating his name.

I see him now meeting his forebears,
Brother Brigham and Joseph are there.
Sweet reunion of prophets, united by service
That only such noble men share.

I see him embraced by the Savior
While Father says, “Good and well done.
So faithful in stalwart endurance, I welcome
My noble, most excellent son.”

I then hear the ripples of laughter
As he says the reception’s just fine,
But he hopes that he’ll get an assignment or two
Since there’s no need to waste any time.

I can hear his clear voice in the stillness
At the close of this sw eet Sabbath day,
Have faith and move forward – there’s work to be done.
President Hinckley would want it that way.

Aunt Jan sent this to me and I had to share it with all....
The author put all the words and feelings I had in my heart down in this beautiful poem.....

Sunday when I found out about his passing, I was saddened, but also thought about how great a reunion he was having. What a great blessing we have as Latter Day Saints, to know that we can be families forever and that death is really just the beginning of something greater. I can't imagine going through life thinking death was the end of my families and friends. Why would a God give us something so important as families and then take it all away, just because we died. It just doesn't make sense....And if by some bizzare way, we find out that it is not true (which I know it is true), I would rather live a life thinking it was and doing everything possible to make happen, than to not even have the faith and live my life outside of the church, and find out that we could have had a forever family, but I missed out because of the way i lived my life. Heaven without my family would not be heaven, it would be hell!
Because of our great Prophet's life, he has made it a lot easier for all to partake in the temple by building temples all over the world. And for that his legacy will forever remain on this earth, and in my life. Let's make sure we use these great buildings and help other that didn't have a choice to be sealed and do their temple work. What a great day that will be when we meet all those we had helped become a eternal family. Go to the Temple.
