EASTERN IDAHO STATE FAIR

Labor day Chris and I headed to the Eastern Idaho State Fair. We started the day off with a walk through all of the booths and getting some yummy fair food, dutchoven ribs (not as great as Dad's ribs, but still good) and the traditional must have funnel cake. After engorging ourselves on food we headed back to the 4H booths to look at the photos, paintings and quilting work, when we got poured on. We endured it as long as we could and took shelter/refuge into the enclosed booths but everyone else had the same idea, so we headed home. We still were able to enjoy the fair and spent 3 to 4 hours wondering around enjoying the great atmosphere.
I love the fair and how it brings us back to the old traditions of America, even though when it arrives it feels like it is the official end to the summer.
The looming storm that eventually rained us out.

Chris by the biggest draft horse of the fair.
You can't tell by the picture but Chris was actually 3 inches shorter then the horse's shoulder.
Chris stands about 6'1, so that might give you a better idea.
Trigger the draft horse.
My goal next year is to go to the draft horse pull.
I think they are amazing animals and would love to see them at work.
