Importance of Temples

I just wanted to take time to share with the world why the temple is so important to me and to the members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

The church has been under fire by the media for standing up for our beliefs on our stance on gay marriage, and now they are attacking the church once again by taking our sacred temple ordinances and putting them onto T.V. through the show called "BIG LOVE". Tom Hanks is the producer of the show and a couple of months back he made a disrespectful comment about Mormons, but he later retracted his comment due to the mass amounts of negative feed back he was getting. But now he and HBO are behind this show.

Because of the issues being brought up, the church released this video to teach the people why we practice these ordinances, so that they see what it is really about and not be miss informed by the media stereotype that this show will portray the church as being.

I want everybody who reads this blog to know that I have a testimony of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the beliefs it teaches. I know that I would not be were I am today or who I am, if it were not for the standards the church. I know that the temple was placed here on this earth for a special purpose and that is to be sealed together as a family forever, not like "until death do us part" but forever. I also know that without the temple and it's ordinances, I would not be able to return to Heavenly Father after I pass through this life.

I encourage all that are not familiar with our beliefs to study it for themselves, and not take some elses words for it. Study it from a reliable source, right from the church websites and then take time to learn from an active member of the church. I know what you might think of us now will change if you take put forth a little effort.
