I had an opportunity to earn some extra credit in my geology class, so I took advantage of the beautiful day on Saturday and hiked the North Menan Butte with my family members. Taryn wanted to sleep over on Friday night, but I told her that we were going to hike a mountain and she got all excited. So we took her with us. She did a great job, she never complained once. She would just ask to rest and eat some chocolate teddy grahams. We got to the top and Taryn was so proud of her accomplishment that she called her mom and dad from the top. We had a great time and I was so excited that I didn't have to hike this bugger all by myself. Also let me just say, that my dog Conan did great. He was able to keep up with us, in fact he usually led the way.

That looks like a beautiful hike. I have only ran the Menan trail back in high school. I will need to go back and actually enjoy it this time.
