Weekend Getaway

Last weekend Chris and I had a little mini-vaca. We were much in need of one and it came at the perfect time. Chris and I met Dave and Andrea in Salt Lake for 4 fun filled relaxing days. Friday evening after checking in the hotel, Dave and Andrea went and had dinner with his old mission companion and Chris and I had dinner and spent the evening with Chris's mission companion and good friend Clint and Wendy. (they were dating the same time Chris and I were, we had great times double dating) We had not seen them in about 3 years, how bad is that. So it was so good to catch up on our families.

Saturday was busy, we got up really early and went shopping for clothes and hit the local oriental and Italian grocery stores. We had lunch with our cousin Kyle and his cute wife Tracie, and then headed off to the Utah Jazz game. The game was a complete blowout, we were a head by like 35 point at the beginning of the 4th quarter. But we still had a great time.

Sunday we were a bit more lazy, we slept in. It was a beautiful day so we went to Temple Square. There we found out that Andrea and Chris are distant relatives, we even tried to find out if Dave and Andrea were, but could not find a link, must to my dismay. We were able to experience an organ recital at the old tabernacle and heard some incredible music, some of which I would have never expected to have been played on our old organ. Then we headed off to the new conference and beehive house where we were able to have tours. It was great to see and learn new things about our church. We had plans to meet up with Rach and her family and Kelle, but were not able to. So we spent the afternoon bumming around Salt Lake and actually ended up playing games back in the hotel room. Oh I have to mention that Dave and Andrea ambushed Chris and I with silly string. It totally caught us off guard, and who would ever think that our dear sweet Andrea was capable of such things, Dave we would expect such things, but not Andrea. We are watching you Andie......

Monday we were lazy once again, but were checked out of the hotel by 10 am. We had breakfast at Kelle's place of employment Totems Cafe'. It was surprisingly good. We all loved our food. Definitely a good place to eat next time we are in Salt Lake. After breakfast we headed for home. We had a great vacation with Dave and Andrea and we are looking forward to our next adventure with them.
