Hayden's First Birthday Party!

This past week we got to celebrate Hayden's first birthday. It has been so much fun to see him grow up here while he has lived in Idaho. Tuesday Chris and I headed up to the Garner's house for BBQ and cake. The past few months, Hayden's favorite thing to play with at home or my house is the swinging lid garbage can, so I teased Ron and Maggie that was what I was going to give Hayden for his birthday, and guess what, I did. He got a garbage can filled with little balls and a onsie. It was a hit, he played with that garbage can with Uncle Chris for quite a bit of time. The only problem, I didn't think of this until after I bought the garbage can, he might start throwing his toys away in the real garbage. Oops..... After dinner (which was delicious) we opened presents and then watched our nephew take his first bits of his cake. It was so cute and we feel privileged to have the opportunity to have their family around so we can watch these milestones.

I had to buy it to emphisize my position as a cool auntie and that I am his favorite.

Here is the video of his first taste of his birthday cake. He was just playing with the icing until Maggie put some icing in his mouth and then he couldn't get enough of it. He was covered by the time we left.
