Chef Taryn

Last week was teacher inservice, so Taryn had a few days off of school. While her sister and brother went to Boise to visit Grandma, Taryn wanted to stay in Idaho Falls and stay at our house for one evening. Thursday when I came home Taryn was out helping Uncle Chris bring in some firewood since the power had been out and our house was frigid. Shortly after I got home the power came back on, so Taryn and I were able to cook dinner. She loves to cook and bake with me and I love to show her.

I showed her how to make Carbonara (a yummy Italian pasta dish, made with bacon, eggs and cheese.) and helped her make rosemary/garlic croissants. She was fantastic help and dinner was so so yummy. Following dinner, she wanted to make cookies, so I busted out the old mixer and helped her make chocolate chip cookies. I helped her read the recipe and she did the rest. I had so much fun and from what her mom told Chris, she had a blast too. I guess little Taryn likes to cook and bake, and maybe someday she will become a world famous chef.

Couldn't wait until these babies were hot out of the oven.
Bring on a cold glass of milk.
