GOOD and BAD
So It has been over a month since my last post and boy has it been a busy month. I started my new job and so far am loving the new challenges that come with new responsibilities and different end of the trucking business. Kingston I was looking for trucks to haul my product across the country, now I am processing new carriers, and their paperwork to keep our bills coming in and trucks paid and organizing the brokers that look for loads and trucks to haul the loads they find. My official title is Logistics Support Manager and I work directly with the Vice President of Doug Andrus. There are things I love about my new surroundings but I miss a lot of things at Kingston. Superficial things like my old desk and computer. My old desk was big and room with a lot of storage room for file and misc. paperwork. My new desk is ridiculous actually. It is about half of what I had and there is not a single drawer in it. It is a cubical and my drawers are the sterolite or rubbermaid pieces of _____, that cost no more that $10. You can't organize anything. I didn't even have a hanging filing cabinet, I went out and purchased one myself, because of the looks I got when I order some supplies. Like (who does she think she is) kinds of looks. My desk has never been dirty/cluttered or heaped with piles of papers until now. I just can't figure out a system quite yet and it is driving me completely crazy. I work much much better in an organized place. I hope to have it contained soon and maybe they will realize that my new digs are not adequate for what they want me to do. Also, the computer systems, emails and their equipment is not what Kingston's had. They get what ever is the cheapest and you can tell. I have to use the free version of Microsoft Outlook and it is horrible. It is slow, doesn't respond with a single click. It is just a mess. The owners have asked me what I have thought and they know my stance and I think they are beginning to come around to new ideas. They also asked my what I thought of how they did things and I didn't hold back. I have found their process old and not efficient either. I think they knew it, but the ladies that have been there so long that they are set in their old ways. They are willing to listen to my ideas and want my help to improve them. All in all, I love my new job and excited for years that are ahead of me.PS. Did I mention that they put me in a corner and I have to squeeze to get into my cubicle. I guess I was bad and had to be put into the corner. LoL.

Now that you are tight with the old bitties, talk them into some good supplies....show them what a good office should look like :)
