Stupid Flu Shot

We had really the first sickness with Lucas this past week. Thursday he went in just for his 12 month shots and the nurses and doctors convinced us to get him a flu shot. I have never regretted a decision more. He ended up puking and diarrhea all weekend. He was losing so much fluid that they had to put him on and IV. My poor baby cried more that 3 hrs than he has his whole life put together. It has not been an easy battle for his parents or him.  Seeing your baby sick then hurt, because of the results of a choice you made, is the worst feeling in the world.
His little hand had to be bound to keep him from pulling out the IV. I was impressed that the nurses were able to hit his tiny dehydrated vein on their 1st try.

This picture was taken after he had been crying for over 2 hours. He was exhausted by the end.

He didn't want the sucker, it took a lot of coaxing to get him to eat it, which was so not like him.
The ride home. He is so not himself.
After getting fluids in him all night, we headed back to the Dr's to see his progress and he was his normal goofy self. He was running around the best he could with an IV leash. So they took the IV out and he was excited for that.
Snuggling with him after all the doctors  appointments
