Relief Society Super Saturday

Super Saturday with Milo and Foothill Wards

Boy am I tired. I just spent the entire day at the church. First with the Super Saturday activities and then it was our wards Relief Society's turn to clean the church. So I was at the church from 9 am to 3:30 pm. This event was something that took a lot of time and energy to put together especially since we didn't start the planning process until the end of September. Our ward wasn't going to do a Super Saturday but we were invited to join the Milo ward. We were short handed with people to demonstrate each project but the ladies were able to figure it out and get some amazing things accomplished. In the middle of the day our ward had a mini lesson while we served yummy soup. But some of the things we did were:

Almond Rocha demonstration: I didn't get pictures of this. But it turned out so yummy..

Filo Dough demonstration: (Jennifer Shipton and her friend even showed how to make it from scratch. It was amazing.)

They stretched the dough out until it was paper thin if not thinner. Then they made apple strudel with it and it tasted amazing.

Fabric Rose Headbands

Owl Rice bags

The big project: Temple Pictures (If I would have had more wall space at home, I totally would have made one.)

Milo ward member, don't know her name, but she made a beautiful picture, wished I would have gotten the after shot of the finished project.

Glass Etched Dishware (dishware with last name etched, for those occasions when you bring a meal to a family, no denying who the plate or casserole dish belongs too.) This was a very popular Christmas gift. I signed up for it, but because there were so many who wanted it done, I ran out of time to do my own.

Stefanie Coles using her Crickette Machine to cut out all of the vinyl for the etching

Megan Turpin and Kristie Randell made last name letters for their homes.

We had a lot more projects, I just didn't get pictures of all of them. But we had family blocks, nativity blocks and this was really popular, we also had a Nativity plaque. It was a great day but it was exhausting. Though because we had so many there from our ward, we were able to clean up the church rather quickly and it was so much fun to be with the sisters and see what talents come through when we do projects.
