Christmas 2017

Merry Christmas!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year. What was the best was seeing Lucas. His anticipation was over the charts. He wanted to track Santa every minute and he was so excited to read the scriptures from our advent calendar each day as we prepared ourselves for the true meaning of Christmas. Christmas eve we spent together as a family and watched the nativity and some productions of the Christmas concerts that the Mormon Tabernacle puts on every year. It was the perfect way to spend the evening. I told Luke that Santa would not come unless he was asleep in bed, so at 630 he came up missing. We found him in bed and we just laughed. We told him he could stay up because Santa wouldn't be here until later. But he was super excited when we told him that Santa was spotted by our house. Santa and one of his elves came to our door and gave him some chocolate. It was fun to watch. As the evening continued we watch Christmas programs and enjoyed our time together. Finally at 11 we told Lucas he had to go to bed and Santa called to tell him that he was on his way and that he needed to go to sleep. We did our nightly ritual and usually within 5 minutes he is a sleep but not this night. He took a while to doze off. The anticipation was killing him.

Santa came and Luke was up around 7:30 perfect time. We watched as he saw and went through what Santa brought but waited for Grandma Betty and Grandpa Darwin to come before we proceeded under the tree.
