Getting Old
Last night Chris and I headed over to his sisters house to have a Father's Day BBQ. While we were waiting for the burgers to be grilled, my nieces convinced me to come jump on their trampoline with them. I have not been on a trampoline in like 10 years. It almost made me nervous. Well after jumping for a while with them, they wanted me to show them some of my old tricks. Can you believe it, I can still do flips and all the crazy stuff I used to be able to do. I was quite surprised. After dinner, all of us adults (Chris, Chuck, John, Tracie and I) went to the front yard to play a little game of speed with the basketball. We played for a good 1 1/2 hours. By the time I went home, I was exhausted and my back was killing me. So even though I could still do zany things on the trampoline and play 1 1/2 hours speed, my body told me last night that I was old. Never have I in the past, had issues when I do such activities, but last night I was reminded that I am 30 years old even though my brain says I am still in my early 20's or late teens. I hate getting old......
