Since living in Idaho, lakes have not been part of my life and it was so nice to be out there enjoying the water, the waves and the sun. I didn't think the lakes in Idaho would be warm, especially for this Ol' Dixie girl, where the lakes are really warm. But I was wrong the water temperature was perfect.
Chris had never been on a wave-runner and was out of his element. Me on the other hand was back on familiar ground. All throughout high school, my friends and I would go to the lake often. So these machines were very familiar. When Chris first got onto the wave-runners he would slow down for boat wakes instead of jumping them, but towards the end of the day he was making me proud by jumping the biggest wakes he could find. In fact, about halfway through the day, after we took a break and ate lunch, us girls decided to soak up some rays. Chris on the other hand wanted to take the machines out by himself. While he was riding he decided to get us wet, or I should say he tried to get us wet. He didn't succeed. He tried for a good 15 minutes. It made us all laugh. After he was finished, I decided to take them out for a spin by myself and I showed him how it was done. While he was sitting on the edge of the dock, I came in as close as I could and then took a hard left. The wave of water that was following me, came right up and soaked him. He was so wet, it looked as if he had jumped into the lake. We all busted out laughing, well except for Chris. He didn't think it was too funny. But we sure did. It was one of those moments that you wish you had a video camera, so it would have caught the look on his face. Priceless. We had a great time. We were out on the lake for 4 hours and we are ready to do it again.
