Well you probably remember the post about me being excited to go see the Jazz play. Well let me just put it this way, the Jazz game was not the most exciting thing that happened to me that weekend. (FYI, this will be a long blog entry, be prepared to clear today's calender in order to read it.)
So let me start at the beginning. About three weeks ago, I was doing laundry and accidentally washed Chris' cell phone. (oops) So I have been letting him use mine. Well, he was driving and asked me to call his number and listen to his messages, I did as I was asked. Well there was a message from Ilyse about hotels in Salt Lake. I asked him why she would be calling him and he said he didn't have a clue. So I just left it at that. Ilyse called me a few days later and asked me if I knew of any good hotels in Salt Lake City. She said she needed a good one because it was for a customer. I gave her a little list, because I have never really stayed at a hotel in Salt Lake. Nothing more was thought about it. Well the week of the game came along and I had made arrangements to stay with Rachel and Brandon for the weekend. I told Chris and he said he had already made plans to stay at his Aunt's house down in Provo. I asked him when he had made the arrangements, and he said on Monday. I looked at him and asked him when he had the chance to call her to see if we could stay there? (I got another suspicion of something going down this weekend, but still did not have a clue what it was.) Anyways Chris and I kept having the discussion on where we were staying, it almost got to the point of being a small argument, but Chris finally said that I am always trying to plan and that I should get with him before I make arrangements. (which I have to admit, I have a problem with the unknown so I try to plan as much as I can) He said that he had made arrangement for a hotel, because we never officially celebrated our 9 year anniversary in December. So I had to make a phone call to Rachel that we would not be down that weekend. So Friday after work Chris and I get into the car and started our trek to Salt Lake. We are on our way down Chris decides to stop to use the restroom. (he never does this, in fact he always teases me when I have to make a pit stop) He gets back in the car and he has to stop again at the Malad pass. (Something is definitely up, but what?) After a while I get a call on my cell phone, but because I washed his, he has been using my cell. He answers the phone and the conversation goes something like this.
Chris : Hey Chuck!
Chris : We just passed you?
Me thinking : How can we just pass him, he lives in Logan.
Chris: Yeah we are meeting Dad, Cheryl and you at Spaghetti Factory.
Chris: Do you know how to get there?
Me : Chuck knows how to get to Trolley Square, he lived in Salt Lake City.
Chris: Ok, we will see you there around 8:30
Well I was trying to figure out what was going down? But still didn't know. So I just kept listening to my zune. We got to Brigham City and I noticed that I had gotten reeces' on my pants and I asked Chris if it was noticeable. He said yes and suggested that we stop at Walmart to get me a new pair. I told it was not a big deal, that I would just get some water and sponge it out. But no he insisted that I get a new pair. We finally make it to Salt Lake City after all of our pit stops. We are walking in Trolley Square and Chris drop's my phone and it goes everywhere. I start picking up the pieces and he gets a sharp tone in his voice and tells me he will do it. I got a little angry and told him that all I was trying to do was help. He said he made the mess, he will fix it. So I let him. I was really starting to get perturbed by his attitude at this point. So I went into the restaurant and asked to get seated, but they told me they would not seat us until the whole party was there. So I asked if I could go to the bar, no it was not to order a drink, but it was to watch the Jazz pulled off a victory against the Phoenix Suns. Well, I was cheering the team on because they had come back from being down like 20 points, and all of a sudden I get ran over. It was Ilyse from Chicago. She nearly plowed me to the ground but I was so excited to see her, I look over to the direction she came and there was Chris (my boss) & Val standing there. They surprised me and I found out that it was them when I thought Chuck called. We had passed Chris and Val, and they called Chris pretending to be Chuck, telling him to slow down and find any way to stop and buy them time. So this explains all the pit stops and the sneaking around. I knew something was going on but had not a clue. Val, Ilyse, Chris, Me and Hubby all had tickets to the Jazz game. It was a great, exciting fun weekend. We all were dressed out in our Jazz gear, and I might add, we looked fabulous. Jazz won the Nuggets in a high impact game. By half time the Jazz score was 77, which is only like 5 point from franchise high. It was a great fun weekend. And they finally got me. Never thought that would happen but it did. Thanks guys for a great fun filled weekend.
