Our second day in DC was started out late. I am not sure if it was because we had slept in the dark basement, the 2 hour time difference, or if we were just exhausted. It might be the combination of all three. Friday was our museum day. We spent the majority at The National Gallery of Art. It was the type of place that you could spend all day looking at each masterpiece. I ditched Chris a couple of times just so I could enjoy the paintings. That museum was incredible, I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. After we spent a few hours there we headed to over to the Native American museum where we spent an arm and a leg on a disgusting mid-day lunch. It was so over rated for what you got, but enough of that. Following lunch we headed up to the actual museum, and I have to say, I was really disappointed. A lot of the displays were replicas. Really, they could not find authentic time period pieces? I have seen better museums back at home. So I felt like this was a waste of time and good taxpayers money. The building was huge and they didn't have it filled. It was so sad, I really was excited to see what they had for each of the incredible tribes that are here in America, but it didn't live up to my expectations. Following the bad museum, we headed over to Thomas Jefferson Memorial. I loved this memorial just as much as the Lincoln one. I over looks the Potomac River, and I guess they are having issues with it sinking due to weight of the memorial. But I really enjoyed being able to sit with my back up against the columns and watching the hustle and bustle of the city. We finally ended our day by eating incredible pasta, though, I tried some of Cheryl's food, and it tasted just like Chris's pasta without the $25 price tag. I guess I am lucky that my hubby knows how to good pasta. We had a great day and was so excited to experience some of the Smithsonian Museums DC has to offer.

of these paintings. Seriously, look him up and read what each painting symbolizes.
I was able to get enough battery juice out to take this picture of Chris standing in front of the WWII memorial. I loved this memorial. As you walk up to it, they have 3D bronze murals depicting the process of how we entered the war. The first is a family sitting by the radio as the news is aired of what happened at Pearl Harbor. The second is a picture of the men enlisting and so forth. I really felt love and honor to be standing at the memorial. It makes me sad to know that this generation is leaving this world and makes me think about my Grandpa Cox and all of the stories he told of his experience.

We had a ball when we went to DC. Looks like you did as well. During our visit the most touching was visiting the Vietnam wall on Fathers Day. Arlington and the Tomb of the Unknown was important to us as well, we saw the changing of the Guard at noon.
