When we arrived, Chris and Robert browsed the bulls, sorting the best from the average. Then we waited for the auction to commense. The first 10-15 bulls were big bulls and were going for way more than we wanted to spend. They were averaging $4750 each. When I saw the prices they were going for, I thought that there was no way we would get a good quality bull for less than $2000, but I was wrong. We got a bull that was towards the end and he had great bloodlines and stats. This bull has great potential to sire some great new calves in the next 5 years. All in all, today was busy and I totally didn't think I was going to be in Butte Mt. yesterday. Chris and I really never know where we will end up or end up doing every weekend.
I had a great time looking at the bulls with Chris and I have to say, next time we need to buy a bull, Chris and I might wear some cowboy gear, we were so out of place, like we were city folks. HAHA!
